Winslow Park Geelong’s new home
Winslow continues to support the communities we work in to enhance it and to provide opportunities.
Winslow and Geelong Soccer Club are proud to announce the renaming of Lions’ home ground at Stead Park to Winslow Park.
Winslow has been a major sponsor of the Geelong Lions since 2021, which has benefitted both parties with club members finding career opportunities at the family owned business and raising the profile of soccer in the local community.
Winslow operates on many major projects and developments in the Geelong, Bellarine and Surfcoast regions, including Armstrong Creek, Torquay, Point Lonsdale and Fyansford, providing local employment opportunities.
“On behalf of all our players, coaches, members and supporters I wholeheartedly thank Winslow for their ongoing support of our club, which now extends to the naming of our home ground,” said club President Robert Kukanovski.
“With this new level of commitment, we aim to attract more players, members and supporters to our club and build on the family friendly environment that we have here.”
Winslow Geelong Region Construction Manager Matt Brown said the company is thrilled to increase its support for the Lions.
“Winslow’s continued support of Geelong Soccer Club is a natural fit given the many local people we have working with us who share a passion for soccer,” Matt said.
On February 1, Geelong will host the inaugural Pathways Cup at Winslow Park taking on Avondale Football Club to raise funds to provide inclusive opportunities in the soccer space for local Indigenous people.
Funds raised will be used to start a new Indigenous soccer program at Avondale, and for youth soccer programs in the Geelong community inclusive of Indigenous Australians through The Geelong Foundation.
