In a major milestone today, Winslow Infrastructure (WI) has signed the contract with the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) Roads (formerly MRPV) for the delivery of the Watson Street Interchange Upgrade (WSIU) in Wallan, north of Melbourne.
WI’s team worked tirelessly to prepare the Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation and submitted an exceptional submission. Feedback from VIDA Roads was that our RFP submission was of an excellent standard and that our understanding of the Project and Proposed Team was very highly rated.
Following the RFP, the team embarked on the 12-week Total Outturn Cost (TOC) phase in April this year.
This involved an extensive and collective effort from all involved, and our team, in collaboration with VIDA, developed our solution, compiled a full suite of management plans and optimised our design, procurement strategy, program and budget.
The team has already been undertaking site investigation and preparatory works for the site compound installation, and our community engagement team have already been out pounding the pavement and getting to know our new neighbours.
Led by Project Director Gosia Suchorska and supported by Construction Manager Christopher Iconomou, this project win is a significant step forward in our WI portfolio and one that we should all be very proud of.
Early works have ramped up on WSIU, with the project team starting construction of their new site compound in Wallan.
Before major works start in January, the team met with the local community at two recent local events.
Members of the WI and VIDA teams recently met with more than 110 families who were interested in knowing project timelines and design elements.
The teams also met with a further 150 families, as well as local MPs Lauren Kathage and Ros Spence and various members of the Mitchell Shire Council.
