WI Queensland team completes key upgrade project
In December, Winslow Infrastructure’s Queensland team achieved Practical Completion of the Ferny Way and Gordon Road Intersection Upgrade project in Ferny Hills, northwest of Brisbane.
The City of Moreton Bay directly contracted Winslow to deliver the project, which is a part of the council’s Integrated Transport Strategy.
The project involved constructing dedicated right and left turn lanes at the Ferny Way and Gordon Road intersection to improve safety.

The signalised intersection now reduces traffic delays and the potential for crashes from unsignalised traffic movements.
The project also required the demolition of the existing drainage network and installation of new drainage pipes, pits, access chambers and gullies.
Construction Manager David Rogers said the intersection looks great with reinstated parklands and road reserve landscaping and it has achieved its intended traffic purpose of improving traffic flow and safety for road users, and pedestrians and cyclists.
“Our team enjoyed working with the City of Moreton Bay management team and consultant Rigour Engineering throughout the project,” David added.
