WI begins Watsons Street upgrade

Winslow Infrastructure is proud to be delivering the Watson Street Interchange Upgrade (WSIU) in Wallan – north of Melbourne – for the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA).

This project has been jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian governments and will deliver new freeway ramps, upgraded connections, and improved traffic signals helping to reduce congestion and enhance access to the Hume Freeway for Wallan and surrounding communities.

Major construction has begun and from mid-January, we will:

• Move into our new site compound;
• lay temporary pavement on the north side of Watson Street;
• install temporary safety barriers and signs along the Hume Freeway and Watson Street;
• prepare the ground for construction near the interchange;
• commence constructing our new ramps off-line.

Once complete, the project will also unlock future growth in Wallan’s rapidly expanding area and strengthen freight connections between the Hume Freeway and the Wallan East industrial estates.

The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2027.
