Seko retires to paradise

Colleagues gathered this week to farewell Winslow Constructors’ Sekove ‘Seko’ Rarasea, who has retired after 24 years with Winslow.

Seko, an unofficial Leading Hand in Melbourne’s North Region specialising in electrical and conduits, was regarded as a great mentor and influence on everyone that worked with him.

He was noted for mentoring the young and inexperienced labourers that he worked with and being influential in the development of many of Winslow’s foremen and current senior leaders including Group Operations Manager Stephen Strano, Winslow Constructors Area Manager Carmelo Grasso and Winslow Constructors Operations Manager Bruno Provenzano.

Throughout his time at Winslow many of his family members have also worked here.

Seko has a great love for Rugby and Fiji, his country of birth, where he is renovating his home into a paradise.

“Seko will always be welcome at Winslow and if you get the chance to wish him farewell make sure you get him to tell his cyclone story and the day Stephen Strano nearly drowned in a pit,” said Winslow Group Industrial relations Manager Peter Smoljko.

“Thank you for your great service and enjoy the next phase of your life.”
