Quality assured after WI toolbox

Recently Winslow Infrastructure National Quality Assurance Manager Rishi Kamboj held a Quality Assurance (QA) toolbox training session, which was delivered to support project teams in strengthening their understanding of requirements across key construction activities, in line with Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) specifications.

The session brought together Project Managers, Foremen and Senior Project Engineers and focused on building consistency in approach, improving compliance outcomes, and reinforcing the importance of “doing it once, doing it right”.

Key topics covered during the session included the basics of QA and its role in project delivery, lots and lotmap planning, and earthworks requirements. The session also covered drainage works, including SSD (Saturated Surface-Dry) and underground stormwater drainage, as well as kerb and channel construction.

The toolbox placed a strong emphasis on practical application and attendees were encouraged to share experiences from their projects, helping to ground the discussion in real-world scenarios and promote shared learning across teams. 

In addition, the presence of Daryl Jennings, Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority’s (VIDA) surveillance officer, added a great value in providing feedback on inspection requirements and quality compliance in real time.

Feedback from participants were overwhelmingly positive, with many noting that the session helped consolidate their understanding of specification requirements and reinforced the importance of early planning, correct sequencing and thorough QA records.
