Our commitment to land restoration

Today, World Environment Day, Winslow reconfirms its commitment to contributing to land restoration, drought resilience, and preventing desertification on our projects through sustainable development and environmental conservation.

Our focus is how Environment Day’s broader theme of Generation Restoration can be integrated via land restoration projects, such as planting trees, landscaping, soil remediation, and restoring degraded land.

An example of this is a wetland under construction at Kingfield Estate (pictured) in Sunbury, Northwest of Melbourne.

“We are determined to enhance drought resilience through water harvesting, watershed management and adoption of drought-resistant plants in wetland systems to treat stormwater runoff,” said Dean Lal, Group Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

“We provide training and capacity-building opportunities and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable land management practices.

“By empowering people to take ownership we can foster long-term environmental stewardship and resilience.

“By integrating efforts to restore degraded land, combat desertification, and enhance drought resilience into the broader theme of Generation Restoration, we need to take ownership of environmental stewardship and work collaboratively towards creating a more sustainable and resilient future for people and the planet.”
