Merylene upskills through mentorship
Survey Management Solutions (SMS) continues to support the growth and provide opportunities for women in the business.
Women in BIM was founded in 2012 with the intention of creating a dedicated network for women working in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction.
SMS is a proud sponsor of Women in BIM (Building Information Modelling), a global community with a vision to support, empower and celebrate female BIM and digital construction professionals.
Women in BIM strives to elevate the image of women in the industry. One of the ways to achieve this is through creating opportunities for more WIB to connect and support each other.
The WIB Mentor Scheme has been designed to offer support and guidance for women to learn and grow both professionally and personally for a period of six to nine months.

Survey Manager Merylene Naidoo has been involved in the scheme, which facilitates career development and empowerment by matching mentees such as herself with industry professionals based on similar aspirations or backgrounds.
“I am paired with mentor, Nedia Ziaei, a BIM Lead specialist at CMS Surveyors in NSW,” Merylene said.
“The core focus of our mentorship is to advance my skills in 3D modelling and scan to BIM workflows.
“This mentorship offers significant benefits as it directly aligns with my personal career development goals while simultaneously enhancing the business capabilities of SMS.”
