Mario Frappa retires after 36 years

After 36 years of service Senior Foreman Mario Frappa, one of Winslow’s longest ever serving employees, has announced his retirement.

Mario started with Winslow in 1988 as an excavator operator on the first 30-tonne plant that Managing Director Dino Strano had purchased for the business.

Pressure was placed on Mario from day one, but he rose to the occasion and commenced work on the first stage at Roxburgh Park in Melbourne’s north.

In 1993, Mario was promoted to Foreman, and he continued to lead many successful jobs before being promoted to Area Supervisor for the West Region, followed by the then newly opened Geelong Region.

It was in Geelong where Mario transformed a struggling region into one of Winslow’s most successful.

Mario, who finishes this week, will be remembered as a determined, accomplished and uncompromising Foreman and a great mentor to many Labourers, Leading Hands and Foremen.

He has been a loyal servant to the company and always encouraged and supported the people around him.

All of us at Winslow congratulate Mario on his efforts and wish him and his family good health and great times in the future.

Although Mario is leaving Winslow, he will always be one of our great people and will hold a spot in the “Winslow Hall of Famers”.
