Full beams ahead at Bluestone Estate

The Winslow Infrastructure team working on the Bluestone Estate in Truganina, west of Melbourne, was busy last week lifting some new bridge beams over Skeleton Creek.

The six beams, each weighing 58 tonnes and measuring 26m long were safely lifted into place by a 450-tonne mobile crane.

The beams will form part of the bridge construction, which when completed will be 27m long, 14m wide and will connect the two estates on either side of the creek.

Now the beams are in place, the concrete can be poured to construct the deck, 18 precast concrete barriers can be installed, and services hung under the bridge.

Works will be completed in November.
