Constructors and Infrastructure bridge gap on project
In a co-ordinated effort, Winslow Infrastructure (WI) and Winslow Constructors (WC) have been delivering significant progress at the Kimberley Estate in Sunbury, northwest of Melbourne, for Villawood Properties.
Sitting high above Jacksons Creek and overlooking much of the subdivision has presented unique challenges due to its steep terrain, live rail interface and limited site access.
WI has been engaged to deliver the Kimberley Estate Bridge Project, which will provide safe, continuous road and walking/cycling access over the Bendigo rail line.
Once complete, the bridge will connect existing and emerging communities directly into the new estate.
This month marked an exciting milestone for the project, with Villawood Properties CEO Alan Miller and local Member for Sunbury, Josh Bull, visiting site to celebrate the near completion of the project’s initial permanent works – the installation of 18 piles — each 900mm in diameter and up to 9.5m long — a major achievement in a tightly constrained environment.
WI Project Manager Adam Ostrowski congratulated the team on the planning and coordination effort that has brought the project to this point.
“The project team have overcome many hurdles and jumped through many hoops to get to where we are today. Extensive planning, presentations and risk workshops with stakeholders have ensured the successful kick-off of this project.
“I’m proud of the team, who has shown resilience and worked through some pretty trying conditions to date. I’m looking forward to delivering another exceptional project for our client.”
Piling works and bridge abutment excavations are now complete, paving the way for structural concrete works to commence. This milestone sets the project up for precast beam installation in early 2026.
Constructors’ North Region team commenced work on the estate in March this year.
WC Senior Project Manager Adam Stojanovski also commended the collaboration between WC and WI.
“All works to date have been completed safely despite challenging access conditions,” Adam said. “The coordination between our teams has been crucial – with strict limits on daily vehicle movements, vehicle sizes and weight restrictions.
“Our crews have been working hard and completed bulk earthworks, the majority of sewer reticulation, and commenced drainage construction.”
