Queensland set for construction boom

Work has commenced an exciting civil construction project at the intersection of Dollarbird Drive and Waterford-Tamborine Road, Yarrabilba (pictured).
The project, led by Project Manager Zane El Mohamed, was commissioned by Stockland and has an anticipated duration of 10 months and involves a range of critical infrastructure works.
The scope of works includes the construction of a new 1.5km dual carriageway, encompassing a project footprint of 170,000m².
A signalised intersection will be built at Dollarbird Drive and Waterford-Tamborine Road, enhancing traffic flow and safety.
The project also involves constructing four large multicell culvert crossings, including a twin 1650mm crossing and a triple-cell 1500x1200mm box culvert.
Earthworks will require a cut-to-fill volume of 160,000m³, with materials sourced from a local borrow pit.
About 15,000 tonnes of asphalt and 22,000 tonnes of quarry material are projected to be used. Stormwater infrastructure will include 600 linear metres of new drainage works and 2.4km of swale drain works.
New street and road lighting will also be installed along the alignment and the new intersection.
The works also include constructing a new Opticomm communication network, guard fencing, landscaping, concrete works, linemarking, and signage.
The existing road will be modified into a service road, ensuring improved local connectivity.
