Safety on the menu at Lunch and Learn

Winslow Infrastructure held its regular Lunch and Learn session at its Port Melbourne headquarters this month with Safety Manager Ryan Brown presenting on WI’s revised Permit to Work process and documentation.

The Permit to Work document aims to simplify the systems for the prevention of asset strikes and ensures that the authorisation and issuing of permits is based on the risks within each area.

To support the new permit, three online training modules have been developed and disseminated to engineers, supervisors and safety staff.

These modules highlight the importance of identifying and protecting services, how to use the new permit and how to prepare asset protection plans using Civillo.

Striking underground and overhead assets remains one of Winslow’s key risks.

Our aim is to continually improve the processes around the prevention of strikes and awareness of risks, and this permit is an important step in this.
