Gosia takes home NAWIC award for Project Delivery

Winslow Infrastructure Project Director Gosia Suchorska was announced the winner of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Victoria award for Project Delivery on Friday night.

This award recognises a woman who has made a significant contribution to the delivery of a project in Victoria in the construction, building or related industries, and recognises the competence and contribution of that person with respect to a project that has reached practical completion or a significant milestone.

Gosia was instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of the Lathams Road Upgrade project.

The Lathams Road Upgrade was a Tranche one project for Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV); the first project of its kind for both the client and WI as the contractor.

The project faced challenges, including complex traffic staging, 24-hour intersection and road construction activity requiring full shutdowns, a heavy industrial area with some stakeholders requiring 24-hour access requirements, affecting the community and local businesses.

Gosia’s pivotal leadership in transforming a struggling project into successful delivery, highlighted her ability to take decisive action and instil confidence in both the client and a relatively new team. This is testament to her transformative leadership ability.
