Lunch and Learn live streamed
Winslow is invested in developing our workforce to ensure strong skills in our teams.
We are a learning organisation, skilled at creating, acquiring, and transferring knowledge amongst us.
Last month, Winslow Infrastructure (WI) held its regular Lunch and Learn session at Port Melbourne which was also live streamed on Teams for employees unable to attend the head office.
We were lucky enough to have Habitat Management Services’ Managing Director/Principal Zoologist and Ecologist Tanya White and Senior Biodiversity Projects Coordinator Michael Cincotta come to chat with the team.
Habitat Management Services is one of WI’s key providers of ecological services, including assessments and reporting, and site services including pre-clearance surveys, vegetation removal supervision and consulting arborist supervision and reporting.
Tanya and her team have worked with WI on all of our major projects, including the Sunbury Road and Lathams Road upgrades, and are gearing up to work with the team on the next MRPV project.
Tanya reinforced the importance of early planning for site set up and factoring in the unknowns when it comes to permits and approvals for works, tree removal, relevant legislation, exclusion zones, innovations and minimising environmental impact during infrastructure projects.
These sessions will now be live streamed every month for our teams based on site and available online for those who are unable to attend on the day.
This initiative is another example of Winslow’s commitment to continuous improvement and learning opportunities.
