Team SMS Delivers Excellence on the Westgate Tunnel Project

For over two years, Kinga and Elliot have been making a big impact on the Westgate Tunnel Project, proudly representing SMS within the CPB and John Holland Joint Venture team. Their efforts have been central to building strong relationships with external clients and delivering exceptional results on site.

Located in Yarraville, our focus has been the tunnel’s Ventilation Structure – a striking and technically challenging 50m-high building designed to extract air from the tunnels using massive industrial fans. The design has evolved rapidly, demanding agility, precision, and deep expertise.

Kinga, as our Project Survey Manager, has led the charge on design management, quality assurance, and compliance with client expectations. On the ground, Senior Surveyor Elliot Skidmore has ensured pinpoint accuracy across all phases of construction, including complex concrete pours, pre-cast installations, and the alignment of steel diagrids with millimetre precision.
