Infrastructure completes crucial part of project

Over the weekend, Winslow Infrastructure’s Sunbury Road Upgrade Project team successfully completed a nightworks beam lift for the new Jacksons Creek bridge.

A cascade of trucks so long they required a second driver on the rear, carried the seven 20m and seven 38m long super-T concrete beams that form the main structure of the new bridge.

The 40 tonne and 82 tonne beams were lifted into place by two huge 350-tonne and 450-tonne cranes.

The beams now in place will play an integral role in the new two-lane bridge that will serve Melbourne-bound traffic.

Moreover, the brand-new asphalted lanes on the Melbourne-bound side opened to traffic for the very first time.

This is another 2km from Shepherds Lane to the new Lancefield intersection, which is more than half the southbound lanes now complete.

These major milestones were reached with the support of Survey Management Solutions (SMS), YVE and Trafman Solutions, which all contribute greatly to the achievement.
