2023 Annual Winslow Awards
The annual Winslow Awards winners were announced this week at Marnong Estate in Melbourne’s north, attended by senior leaders of the Group.
Winslow Constructors Foreman Shay Keillor Reed was awarded the annual Frank Siciliano Award, which acknowledges a person who consistently succeeds, even when faced with seemingly overwhelming challenges and takes pride in all aspects of the job.
“Shay always delivers every stage on time and on budget. At one stage, Shay was looking after 13 Stages at Woodlea,” said Operations Manager Bruno Provenzano.
“He’s a good leader whose team love him because he’s a good trainer and mentor to the labourers.
“He develops great working relationships on site, which is why the engineering teams respect him.
“He is young and has great potential for the future.”
Winslow Infrastructure Submissions Coordinator Liza Walsh was awarded the Directors Award, which recognises outstanding employees who live out the Winslow values every day.
Liza has shown an outstanding attitude and willingness to go above and beyond.
“Her commitment and hard work has seen the quality of our submissions improve significantly, ensuring that we demonstrate our value to our customers at the tender box,” WI General Manager Leonard Bam.
“Over the past 12 months, Liza has not only led this aspect for Winslow Infrastructure on both major and minor infrastructure, for new and existing clients, but extended this in other businesses within the Group.”
Survey Management Solutions Utilities Supervisor Greg Howden has been awarded the inaugural Richard Brown Safety Award.
The award recognises outstanding safety contributions in the pursuit of Winslow’s ‘My Family My Safety’ safety culture and recognises Greg’s contributions toward everyone going home to their families healthy and safe at the end of each day.
“Greg has been instrumental in the re-launch of the Lathams Road Upgrade project, and rose to the challenge that myself and the Group put on Greg to ensure that the Permit Process to was held to account,” said Hugh Peck, Winslow Group General Manager – Group Services.
“More recently, Greg has taken it upon himself to roadshow Excavation Permit training across the Winslow Infrastructure portfolio and is pushing hard to stretch this across Constructors also.
“His proactive approach in organising and administering training programs across the various Winslow entities has had a profound impact on the Group.”
Greg’s tireless efforts have not only enhanced safety within Winslow Group, but have also set the standard for others with his dedication to safeguarding the well-being of employees and the protection of utilities.
On Friday December 8, Queensland and Northern NSW staff gathered to recognise employees who have consistently displayed the Group’s culture and safety values.
Winslow Group leaders also attended to acknowledge Project Engineer Brendan Michell with the Culture Award, Site Engineer Matt Brincat the Safety Award and Site Engineer Caitlin Herron the Directors Award.
