Winslow Queensland tees up charity golf day

Winslow Queensland is hosting a charity golf day to support RUN DiPG and raise funds and awareness for DIPG, the deadliest form of childhood cancer.

DIPG (Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) is a brain tumour that forms in the ‘pons’, the brain’s control centre located atop the spinal cord, which is usually diagnosed in children and young adults.

RUN DIPG is a charity dedicated to improving outcomes for patients, families and communities impacted by DIPG.

There are no treatments available, so patients typically survive only months following diagnosis and just 10 per cent of patients survive two years. Less than one per cent survive five years. 

“Winslow’s culture and values are about people, relationships, and working together, so we are determined to make the communities we work in a better place,” said Winslow Queensland Regional Manager Anthony Rosario.

“With several of our employees with young families (including myself), I feel it is a privilege to be able to generate vital funds for research in the hope of one day preventing this heartbreaking disease.

“We encourage everyone to make a donation, and any businesses to sponsor this event, for such an important cause.”

The Winslow Queensland Charity Golf Day will be held on October 20 at Royal Pines Resort Golf Club on the Gold Coast.

Winslow has so far raised more than $42,000 with a target of $100,000.
