Providing opportunities to everyone in the communities where we operate is part of Winslow’s culture and values.

Winslow Infrastructure recognises that our social responsibilities are key to our long-term sustainability and growth and accordingly we are committed to our role towards the engagement of social enterprises, disability enterprises and/or Aboriginal businesses, through sustainable social procurement activities.

On our current Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) portfolio, WI is proudly exceeding all social procurement targets. Below is a snapshot of current data:

Recently the team on our Sunbury Road Upgrade hosted some of the staff from Distinctive Options, one of our social procurement providers, on site.

Distinctive Options gives meaningful employment to people with disabilities through work programs, such as the ‘DO Honey’ program, ‘DO Food Project Café’, the ‘Goodwill Gardener’ and DO Pathways’ Program.

The Sunbury Road Upgrade project engaged Distinctive Options as our catering and letterbox drop provider, which was a new service for their business and one they have thoroughly enjoyed.

The Distinctive Options team have collectively delivered more than 26,000 community notifications, walked more than 900km, and worked more than 1400 hours for the Sunbury Road Upgrade project, providing assistance to our community engagement team in a continued effort to keep our stakeholders and communities informed.

Across the remainder of our WI portfolio and head office in Port Melbourne, we also regularly engage services and supplies from social procurement enterprises, in a continued effort to enhance strategic and sustainable procurement practices, enabling the business to effectively contribute to building stronger communities and generating wider social benefits.
